Stability under peak traffic

The challenge

A large catalogue, high merchandising activity, and no time for a rebuild.

TYR’s Shopify setup supported a complex product taxonomy, but navigation hierarchy, tagging, and search logic lacked consistency — creating friction in discovery and inefficiency in browsing, filtering, and evaluation.

Performance was also suffering from unused code and inefficient asset delivery. With peak season approaching, everything had to be addressed quickly and without destabilising a system that was about to carry its heaviest traffic of the year.

What we did

A focused sprint inside the existing system.

High-impact work only, prioritised for discovery, flow, and performance while keeping the system stable.

The results

+25% revenue and +37% orders, year on year.

Delivered in time for peak, without a redesign and without destabilising the platform.

The takeaway

Before peak season, the right question isn't what could we rebuild — it's what can we fix that will still be standing in November.
